Assimilation
Assimilation is the second step in the Nitrogen cycle. Assimilation happens when an organism who produces the nitrogen in Nitrogen Fixation (first step) has that nitrogen assimilate into their tissues. After which the organism is either consumed by another organism or dies and decomposes into the soil. Either way the nitrogen is transferred either to the new organism or decays into the soil.
